The Red Dial (Lockout):

Why does the battery get hot while charging?

Regarding the heat: During the charging process (while the light is red), the charger converts high-voltage current, which naturally generates heat. It is normal for the charger case to feel warm or hot to the touch.

Great e-bike for outdoor adventures

I’ve taken the EDM01 on a few weekend adventures, and it’s perfect for casual trail riding. The power is more than enough to get up hills without feeling winded, and the bike’s suspension really helps make the ride smooth. It's also a lot of fun to ride around. The battery holds up for hours, so I can enjoy the ride without constantly worrying about charging it. Overall, great bike.

I have had this bike for 3 months now and put 988 miles on it - no major complaints.

I have had this bike for 3 months now and have ridden 988 miles, so far. No problems except one chain jump off.
It's a great deal, price wise. It arrived in about four days. Very easy to assemble. Rides very nice.
I bought and attached a bike rack over the rear tire, and that was easy. Then I mounted sadlebags on the rack.
The display is very bright, so I can see everything, even in bright sun light, much better than my other ebike.
The only thing I don't like about the display is when you shut down (or it turns off automaticlally after ten minutes, as it should) for a break,
when you turn the display back on, it automatically puts THE TRIP back to ZERO.
I wish it would NOT do that.
My other ebike, when I turn it back on, it KEEPS the trip mileage, and it will add the milelege to what I have ridden on that day trip.
So that way, "I" decide when the trip count is over, my other does NOT go back to zero, until 'I' say so. So, just one complaint. I like to end my day knowing how may miles
I went without any hassle. Maybe not a big deal for some people.

However, you CAN set the speeds you want, for each of the 5 settings, using the P-Control. My other bike, Eahora Epus, the speeds are set and they can not be changed. Not cool.
This controler is much better in that regard, and as I said it is very bright and can be seen on the most sunny of days.
I replace all bike SEATS with better ones - I just like the $38 dollar ones by Medicus (medium). I don't expect bike makers to put that seat on.
I just prefer a better seat for me and will pay for that upgrade - no problem. I ride near 30 miles a day - I need a better bike seat for my skinny butt.
Anyway, it's a great bike, in my opinion, and will not make spend a lot of $. Just a very good deal! One you can not beat!
I'd recommend it to anyone who does not need a step-though bike.
