EDIKANI YL81F E-Bike Display: Operation Guide

EDIKANI YL81F E-Bike Display: Operation Guide

As a frontrunner in the high-performance e-bike industry, EDIKANI models—such as the EX-R05 and ED-SN01—are equipped with formidable motors peaking between 1500W and 5000W. The YL81F display serves as the "command center" for this performance beast. Whether you are navigating urban commutes or tackling all-terrain trails, mastering this display will significantly enhance your riding safety and control.

I. Interface Breakdown: Data at a Glance

The YL81F features a high-contrast LCD screen, ensuring clear data readability even under direct sunlight. The layout includes:

  • Battery Level: Displayed via a 5-bar indicator. Full bars indicate a full charge; the frame will flash when the battery is depleted, signaling it’s time to recharge.

  • Current Speed: Supports switching between KM/H and MPH.

  • PAS Level (Pedal Assist System): Shows the current power output gear (typically 0-5).

  • Mileage Data: Short press the "i" button to cycle through Trip (single trip distance), ODO (total odometer), MAX (max speed), and AVG (average speed).

  • Status Icons: Includes indicators for Headlights, Cruise Control, and Walk Boost.

II. Five Riding Modes: Adapting to Every Road

The YL81F allows you to activate different driving modes to match EDIKANI’s exceptional torque output.

  1. Walk Assist Mode

    • Operation: Long press and hold the "Down (-)" or "i" button.

    • Performance: The bike will move at a constant walking pace of 6 km/h (approx. 3.7 mph). A "walking person" icon will appear on the screen.

    • Note: This mode is strictly for pushing the bike; do not use it while riding.

  2. Pedal Assist Mode (PAS)

    • Operation: Power on the display and begin pedaling; the system will automatically provide motor assistance.

    • Adjustment: Use the "Up/Down" arrows to switch between levels 1-5. Higher levels provide stronger motor assistance.

  3. Pure Electric Mode

    • Operation: Simply press the thumb throttle.

    • Performance: No pedaling required. The speed is determined by the pressure on the throttle and is still capped by the current PAS gear limit.

  4. Cruise Control Mode

    • Activation: When speed exceeds 3 mph (4.8 km/h), hold the thumb throttle and simultaneously press the "Down (-)" button.

    • Performance: The screen will display "Cruise." You can release the throttle, and the bike will maintain its current speed.

    • Exit: Squeeze the brakes, pedal, or press the settings/throttle again to cancel.

  5. Basic Bike Mode: Turn off the display power to ride it as a standard manual bicycle.

Safety Tip: For beginners, always start at Level 1. High-power motors provide instant acceleration that can lead to loss of control if you aren't prepared for the "kick."

III. Advanced Settings: Customizing Your Ride

The YL81F allows users to adjust underlying parameters via the P-Menu (Power Menu).

1. How to Enter the Settings Interface

Press the "+" and "-" at the same time for 5s to enter the advanced settings.
Press the "i" button will toggle the setting numbers from 01P to 19P, then press the "+" or "-" to adjust the value of each setting.

  • Once finished, long press "i" for 5 seconds to save and exit.

IV. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

While EDIKANI components are designed with IP67-rated dust and water resistance, electronics still require care:

  • Defogging: If fog appears inside the screen due to temperature changes, place the bike in a dry, ventilated area. Sunlight on a low-humidity day (<40%) will help evaporate the moisture.

  • No High-Pressure Washers: Use a damp cloth to clean the display. Never aim a high-pressure water gun at the screen or cable interfaces, as this can breach the waterproof seals.

  • Error Codes: If the system fails, an "ERROR" message and a code (e.g., E06, E07) will appear. Stop riding immediately and consult your manual or contact service@edikani.com for support.
